Ingredients
  

  • 250 grams okra (Bhindi) ladies finger
  • 2 medium onion
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed zeera
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric (haldi)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste or crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or (as per taste)
  • 2 tablespoons coriander leaves

Preparation

  • Wash okra and pat dry it with clean and dry kitchen napkin or tissue.
  • Discard the both end of okra and then cut into small pieces.
  • Chopped the onion ,tomato and green chilli.

How to make Masala Bhindi

  • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan.
  • Saute bhindi on medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes or until there is nor more stickiness remains.
  • Trnasfer them in a plate and keep aside.
  • Add 2 tablespoon oil in a pan.
  • Add cumin seed when it begin to splutter add finely chopped onion.
  • Saute onion until they turn golden brown.
  • Add green chilli, saute for a minute.
  • Add ginger garlic paste ,saute until fragrant.
  • Add chopped tomatoes with pinch of salt and fry until they turn soft and mushy.
  • Now add red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder.Saute for minute or until it leaves oil.
  • Add fried okra.Mix well.Add salt.Cook on low heat stirring occasionally.
  • Sprinkle garam masala powder and mix well.
  • Once the bhindi cooked transfer it into serving bowl.Garnish it with coriander leaves.
  • Serve the bhindi masala with roti, chapati, rice.

Notes

Pick okra which is bright colour pod. Avoid dull,bruised, soft, or blemished pods.
